Romans 3:1-8
God’s Characteristics:
- Holy
- Righteous
- True and the Truth
- The Righteous and Fair Judge
- Faithful
^^But if our unrighteousness highlights God’s righteousness, what are we to say?
If some were unfaithful, will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Absolutely not! Let God be true, even though everyone is a liar
Is God unrighteous to inflict wrath? Absolutely not! Otherwise, how will God judge the world?
God shows no favoritism and God judges based on sin.
Romans 2:10-11: “But glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For there is no favoritism with God.”
Other versions say first to the Jew, and also to the Gentile.
Just to interject here:
Romans 2:28-29: “For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God not from people.”
NLT Version
There is no sin greater than the other in the eyes of God. Whether you sin in the physical or sin in your heart. Sin is sin.
How can you do evil and expect good fruit to be produced out of that?
All that you have been through was not for nothing. God uses our unrighteousness, our stubbornness, and our pride to be turned around for His glory–using our testimonies to lead others to Christ.
Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
CSB Version
God is the creator of the World. You don’t think He already knows what is going to happen? Don’t you think He already has the solution to everything? Then why do we still struggle to trust in His plans and will for our life?
Romans 8:28: “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”
CSB Version
God has taken careful consideration of all the mistakes we have made and still turn it around for our good and His glory.
Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

Circumcision (spiritually)–is the cutting away of your sinful nature. Setting us apart for His holy purpose.
Ephesians 2:8-10: “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift–not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”

Sin vs. Holy
Perverted = Corrupt
Synonyms for perverted:
^^ these are the result of walking in sin
When you are walking in sin you have to sustain yourself. God will take His hand off of your life and you will see just how far you can go living the way you do.
We were not meant to be in control and try to sustain ourselves. We are dependent on God–the creator, our Father.
Holy:
INTEGRITY=UNWAVERING
Antonyms: (the opposite of perverted)
Contaminants is a polluting or poisonous substance that makes something impure, or makes unfit (which is found in an environment)
When you live inside of God’s plan, God’s will for your life– You are covered. You have a protection covering over you.
Psalms 91:1: “The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

What kind of environment are you harboring?

When you’re obedient to God–your obedience leads to righteousness through Christ Jesus.
When you offer yourself to God you are surrendering to His will for your life.
- Being set free from sin leads to sanctification which brings Eternal life (which is God’s gift). (Ephesians 2:8-10)
God is a clean God who cleanses everything He touches. Do you need His touch today?
